
Oklahoma City Baseball Club Earn 4-2 Win Over Round Rock

The Oklahoma City Baseball Club bounced back Thursday night with a 4-2 win over the Round Rock Express at Dell Diamond. The Express (7-5) took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning before OKC scored twice in the third inning on a RBI single by Trey Sweeney and sacrifice fly by Ryan Ward. Andy Pages added a RBI single in the fourth inning to extend the lead to 3-2. Round Rock trimmed the lead back to one run in the sixth inning and left the tying run at third base in the seventh inning. Kody Hoese gave Oklahoma City (7-5) a bit more breathing room with a RBI single in the eighth inning.
Of Note: -Starting pitcher Eduardo Salazar delivered 5.2 solid innings, allowing two runs and six hits, earning his first win of the season. Salazar gave up a quick run in the first inning but then kept Round Rock scoreless until his final batter faced with two outs in the sixth inning...Over his last two games, Salazar has allowed three runs over 11.2 innings while inducing a total of five ground ball double plays.
-Andy Pages went 2-for-5 with a RBI. He is now 10-for-22 over his last five games, including four multi-hit efforts.
-Trey Sweeney reached base three times, going 1-for-3 with two walks and a RBI. Sweeney has hit safely in eight of his last nine games and has reached base safely in all 11 games he's played in this season. He leads the PCL with 15 walks.
-Miguel Vargas was 0-for-3 but walked twice. He has reached base in each of the team's first 12 games this season and is the only player in the PCL to do so.
-After a rough doubleheader Wednesday in which the pitching staff allowed 13 runs, OKC allowed two runs Thursday. It's the fourth time in six games OKC has allowed three or fewer runs, all resulting in victories.
-Oklahoma City improved to 8-2 in the team's last 10 games played at Dell Diamond.
-Ten of Oklahoma City's 12 games this season have been decided by one or two runs. The team is now 6-4 in those contests.
