The outcome of the Tuesday matinee at McCoy was decided fairly early. Lehigh Valley scored a run in the first, eight in the second and three more in the third, as they manhandled Pawtucket 12-0. Boof Bonser (0-1) struggled, allowing 9 earned runs in just two innings. Ramon Ramirez let three more score in his only inning. Joe Nelson, Chad Paronto and Robert Manuel combined for six shutout innings, after it was a little too late. Neil Sellers had a couple of hits and 4 rbi to highlight the Iron Pigs attack. Aaron Bates and Bubba Bell had two hits apiece for the PawSox.
The PawSox wind up with a split of their season opening homestand (3-3). The first road trip of 2010 commences on Wednesday in Buffalo. Game one of the series at Coca Cola Field is slated for a 3:05 p.m. start. Adam Mills (0-0, 0.00) faces R.A. Dickey ()-0, 7.71).
