Indianapolis Indians News Release

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indianapolis Indians have announced that David Pygman has been named the Tribe's public address announcer for the 2010 season.

Pygman was the PA voice of the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field from 2007-2009. During his tenure with the Rays, he had the privilege of announcing Game 1 and Game 2 of the 2008 World Series between the Rays and the Philadelphia Phillies.

As the Indians public address announcer, Pygman will be responsible for all Victory Field game announcements including starting lineups, batter introductions and various promotional messages.

"While my three seasons with the Tampa Bay Rays were truly fantastic, growing up in Central Indiana, I always dreamed of being the PA announcer for the Indianapolis Indians," Pygman said. "I am blessed to have this unique opportunity to return home to Indiana and still do what I love."

Born and raised in Mooresville, Indiana, Pygman honed his professional sound behind the microphone at WCBK 102.3-FM. Upon returning to Mooresville, Pygman rejoined the station and can be currently heard on weekend broadcasts from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Indians open the 2010 home schedule on Friday, April 16 at Victory Field against their division rivals the Toledo Mud Hens at 7:15 p.m. Tickets are on sale now at www.IndyIndians.com or by calling the Victory Field Box Office at 317-269-3545.
