
IronPigs Look to Snap Skid

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs will look to snap a three-game skid when they open a four-game set with the Charlotte Knights on Thursday night. First pitch from Coca-Cola Park is slated for 7:05 p.m.
LHP Anthony Vasquez (1-0, 4.32) will be on the bump for the Pigs in the series opener. The southpaw earned the win on Saturday at Durham when he gave up one run on seven hits to go along with two walks and seven strikeouts in 6.1 IP. Vasquez was 7-3 with a 3.28 ERA in 12 GS with Double-A Reading this season.
RHP Chris Volstad (5-5, 4.45) gets the ball for Charlotte on Thursday night opposite Vasquez. On Saturday at Gwinnett, Volstad allowed five runs on eight hits while walking one and fanning four over si six innings of work in a no-decision. Back on June 4 against the Pigs, the right-hander earned the win after allowing three runs on five hits in 6.0 IP.
Pigs C Logan Moore is hitting .393-2-6 (11-28, 3 2B, BB, 2 R) over his last nine contests for manager Dave Brundage's squad.
There will be Thursday Night Fireworks courtesy of Bennett's Automotive Group. There is also an Extended Happy Hour from 5 to 7 p.m. with $1 hot dogs and $2 domestic drafts.
