Indianapolis Indians News Release

TOLEDO, OHIO - The Indianapolis Indians scored eight runs in the seventh inning to run away with the victory over the Toledo Mud Hens on Thursday night, 11-1. Pedro Florimon clubbed a grand slam and drove in five runs in the triumph.

The first nine batters reached in the seventh for Indianapolis (43-37). Back-to-back doubles by Max Moroff and Josh Bell plated the frame's first run. The Indians then drew two walks, and collected a pair of run-scoring singles to setup Florimon's grand slam.

Florimon's slam was the second of the season for the Indians; Josh Bell hit the first on April 22 at Louisville.

Bell opened the game's scoring with a lead-off home run in the second. It was his 12th homer of the year, and he is now one shy of his career-high set back in 2013 with Class-A West Virginia.

Austin Meadows started the fourth inning off with a home run, his second since joining the Indians from Double-A Altoona.

Toledo (33-46) scored one run in the eighth, but it would be the only run for the Mud Hens.

Steven Brault (2-3) worked five scoreless frames and earned the win. He struck out six batters and only issued two walks.

Thad Weber (5-8) faced the first four batters of the seventh and received the loss. He allowed six runs, three of which crossed after he exited the game.

The Indians and Mud Hens will play a doubleheader on Friday evening. First pitch of game one is set for 5:35 p.m., and game two will follow approximately 30 minutes after. Both games are set for seven innings.
