Thompson Square to Perform National Anthem at Triple-A All-Star Game

(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) -- Thompson Square, a multi-platinum selling duo composed of husband and wife Keifer and Shawna Thompson, will perform the National Anthem at the 2016 Sonic Automotive Triple-A Baseball All-Star Game presented by Gildan on Wednesday, July 13th at BB&T Ballpark in Uptown Charlotte. The duo's rendition of The Star Spangled Banner will be broadcast live from Uptown Charlotte on the MLB Network beginning at 7:00 p.m. EST on July 13th.
Thompson Square has topped the radio charts across the United States, Canada, and Australia with number one hits such as "Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not", "If I Didn't Have You" and "Everything I Shouldn't Be Thinking About". In 2012, Thompson Square earned ACM and CMA "Vocal Duo of the Year". A year later, the duo won the ACM Award for "Vocal Duo of the Year" again. The International Country Music stars boast three #1 hits, six Top 20 hits, and seven mainstream industry awards.
Beginning at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13th, the Uptown Charlotte area will be rocking with an All-Star Street Festival in front of BB&T Ballpark. As part of this pre-game event outside of the team's Uptown Charlotte kingdom, The Fifth Divine will take the stage and perform for the crowd. The All-Star Street Festival, which is a free event, will also feature a special appearance from Thompson Square. A special contest hosted by The New 103.7 FM begins on Friday, July 1st and winners will be selected to take part in an exclusive meet and greet with Thompson Square. Already announced via @KnightsBaseball on Twitter, singer Benton Blount, a Top 10 finalist on Season 10 of NBC America's Got Talent, will perform the National Anthem at the 2016 Harris Teeter and Tide+ Triple-A Baseball Home Run Derby presented by Clariant on Monday, July 11th. The Greenville, SC musician was an early season favorite on last season's NBC hit show and wowed fans with his covers of hit songs such as "Fight Song" and "The Story of My Life".
