Bats No-Hit for First Time at Home Since 2010

Louisville, Ky. - The Louisville Bats fell victim to their first no-hitter since July 30, 2014 at the hands of the Gwinnett Braves on Thursday night. The Bats were no hit at home for the first time since May 28, 2010. The final score was 3-0.

Righty veteran Rob Wooten (1-1, 2.08) threw six no-hit innings for the Braves before being replaced by lefty Matt Marksberry in the bottom of the seventh. Right-hander Jose Ramirez took the mound in the ninth. The trio finished the game with no hits allowed.

Bats righty Jon Moscot (4-4, 5.26) pitched six innings before fellow right-hander Kevin Shackelford took the mound. Shackelford and Dayan Diaz combined for three innings of scoreless relief.

Gwinnett started the scoring off in the top of the second when catcher Blake Lalli singled on a line drive to center fielder Scott Schebler to score Rio Ruiz. Ruiz followed the following inning, when he doubled on a fly ball to score Reid Brignac.

The Braves' lead extended in the fourth when left fielder Matt Tuiasosopo homered on a fly ball to right field making the score 3-0 Gwinnett heading into the fifth. This is where the score stayed. The Braves walked away with the 3-0 win and the no-hitter.

The Bats are back at it for the second game of the Braves series at 7:05 p.m. Friday night at Louisville Slugger Field. Robert Stephenson (5-4, 3.93) will pitch for the Bats with right-hander Lucas Harrell (3-1, 2.92) listed as the probable for Gwinnett.
