Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
The IronPigs (12-7) play the finale -- and Rubber Match -- of a three-game series against the Buffalo Bisons (10-10) at Coca-Cola Park... With a 4-3 win in 11 innings last night, the Pigs snapped a season-long, three-game skid. Still, they've dumped five of their last seven contests after starting 10-2... The Bisons -- the Mets' top affiliate -- failed to match their season-best, three-game winning streak from April 6-8. Still, the Bisons have gone 6-4 since a season-long, three-game losing streak.
RHP Scott Elarton (1-0, 0.56) will start for LHV against RHP Matt Harvey (1-1, 6.63).
Today is Education Day #1. First-Pitch is at 10:35 a.m... The Pigs next begin a four-game series against SWB on Thursday.
MORNING PIGS:
Today marks the Pigs first of 5 scheduled games to be played starting prior to 11:30 a.m. this season. In franchise history, LHV's gone 9-7 in games starting prior to 11:30 am -- winning 8 of the last 11 G (3-2 in 2011)... Last season, they started 3-0 before dropping their final 2 -- including a 6-3 loss on 5/23 vs. GWN-G1, which snapped their season-high 6-G winning streak.
