
IronPigs come home swinging in win over Worcester

Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
(Allentown, Pa) - The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (28-38) came home swinging on Tuesday night as they defeated the Worcester Red Sox (35-29). The IronPigs saw every player in their lineup register at least one hit, a total of 16 hits.
The IronPigs took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning as Austin Listi hit an RBI double and Odubel Herrera hit an RBI single. Charlie Tilson scored on a passed by by WooSox catcher Connor Wong. The Pigs extended their lead to 8-0 in the bottom of the fifth inning as Matt Vierling hit an RBI single to score Dalton Guthrie. Vierling would score on a wild pitch then Ruben Tejada hit a bases clearing three-run triple. Tilson added a sacrifice fly for the final run of the inning.
The WooSox scored runs against Anderson in the top of the fourth inning (one run) and the top of the sixth inning (three runs). The Pigs put five runs on the scoreboard in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a 13-4 lead. Ryan Cordell blasted a three-run home run, his 12th home run of the season. Guthrie hit an RBI single, and Herrera scored on an RBI groundout.
Worcester scored another run in the top of the seventh inning to cut Lehigh Valley's lead to 13-5. Listi hit a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth inning for the Pigs' 14th run of the game.
Chase Anderson (1-2) earned the win for Lehigh Valley as he pitched 5 2/3 innings. Kyle Hart (4-6) took the loss as he pitched just 1 2/3 innings. Hart left the game due to injury. Guthrie extended his hitting streak to 10 games with a double in the bottom of the third inning.
The IronPigs and WooSox return to action on Wednesday evening at Coca-Cola Park. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
