
IronPigs Bomb Four Homers to Sink RailRiders on Saturday Night

Moosic, PA - The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (41-43, 5-6) had all facets of the game clicking as they rebounded to snap a three-game losing streak with a 6-1 win over the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (41-43, 7-3) on Saturday night at PNC Field.
Just two batters in, Jake Cave smoked the first of four IronPigs homers in the game, a solo shot and his 16th of the season.
In the second, Rafael Marchan reached on an error with one away and John Hicks then walked. After a groundout, Scott Kingery launched a three-run homer to put the IronPigs ahead 4-0.
Leading off the fourth, Marchan belted his first homer of the year for the IronPigs, extending the lead to 5-0.
With one away in the seventh, Kingery belted his second homer of the day and 11th of the season, a solo shot, putting the IronPigs up 6-0.
The RailRiders got their lone run of the game on a Jamie Westbrook solo homer in the last of the seventh.
Nick Nelson (1-1) spun five shutout innings to earn the win for the IronPigs. Nelson allowed just two hits and a walk, striking out four.
Tanner Tully (5-3) suffered the loss for the RailRiders. Tully worked six innings, giving up five runs (two earned) on six hits and a walk, striking out four.
The IronPigs wrap up their series against the RailRiders on Sunday, July 9. First pitch is slated for 1:05 p.m.
