DURHAM, NC - Bulls shortstop Greg Jones mashed a two-run homer and second baseman Vidal Brujan drove in a run, while CF Daz Cameron recorded an RBI and 3B Joey Ortiz scored twice in Norfolk's 4-3 win over Durham on Saturday evening at Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
The Tides struck first with a single tally in the first, before the Bulls would answer in the second when Jones smashed a two-run homer. Norfolk would tie the score in the third with a run, prior to two more tallies in the sixth. Brujan's RBI single in the eighth made it a 4-3 game.
Brujan was the only Bulls batter to record a multi-hit effort, in tonight's game. RF Ruben Cardenas also recorded a hit.
Norfolk reliever Kyle Dowdy (2.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 2 SO) earned the victory, while Logan Gillaspie (1.0 IP, 0 SO) notched the save. Durham reliever Jalen Beeks (1.0 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 3 SO) suffered the defeat.
The two teams are set to square off again on Sunday evening, with first pitch scheduled for 5:05pm at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. LHP Jacob Lopez is expected to get the nod for the Bulls and be opposed by RHP Grayson Rodriguez.
