IronPigs Begin Series at Rochester

Coming out of the All-Star break, the Lehigh Valley IronPigs will open a four-game set with the Rochester Red Wings on Thursday night at Frontier Field. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m. The IronPigs enter play at 40-51 after taking two of three from Pawtucket over the weekend. Rochester sits in first place at 49-42 after splitting a four-game set with Syracuse before the break.

RHP Aaron Nola (3-0, 2.43) will be on the bump for the Pigs on Thursday night. In his last start on Friday at Pawtucket, Nola got a no-decision after giving up two runs on seven hits to go along with two walks and six strikeouts over 6.0 IP. The right-hander will be making his second start of the year against the Wings. On July 4 at Rochester, Nola three runs on nine hits while fanning six over six innings of work in a no-decision.

RHP Tyler Duffey (3-4, 2.47) gets the ball for manager Mike Quade's squad in the series opener. Duffey's last start came on July 9 vs. Buffalo when he received a no-decision after surrendering three runs (two earned) on six hits while walking one and fanning four in 6.2 IP. Back on July 4 at Frontier Field, the Houston native got a no-decision vs. the Pigs after giving up two runs (none earned) on four hits over seven innings of work. Opponents are hitting just .161 (9-56) with runners in scoring position against Duffey.
