
Iowa keeps up energy to defeat Stampede

BOISE, Idaho - The Stampede came out firing in the first quarter but couldn't overthrow Iowa, as the Energy defeated the Stampede 124-95.
The first quarter proved to be a strong battle between both teams. The Stampede came out electrified and charging at Iowa, causing four lead changes throughout the quarter. Iowa fended off the Stampede leading 30-26 going into the second.
Iowa's Mark Tyndale came off the bench to score 11 points in the second quarter, while Curtis Stinson pulled out seven assists, five rebounds, and four points. Iowa's team effort put the Energy up 69-46 heading into halftime.
The Energy came out of the third quarter with five players in double figures and a led 101-72. Stinson added six more assists in the quarter making his total 13. Andre Barrett for Idaho delivered 18 points and six assists going into the fourth quarter.
Seven players for Iowa finished in double figures, three of them coming off the bench including Jeff Trepagnier with 16, Othyus Jeffers with 11 and Tyndale with 13. Courtney Sims earned a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds. A strong Cartier Martin finished with 18 points, while Earl Barren and Carroll both scored 15.
Idaho's Donell Taylor finished with his sixth double-double of the season with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Barrett scored a game high of 20 points and eight assists. Two other Stampede players scored in double figures including Lance Hurdle with 12 points and Joe Dabbert with 11 points.
The Idaho Stampede take on the L.A. D-Fenders tomorrow night at 7 p.m. in Qwest Arena. Iowa continues their road trip and will face the Utah Flash tomorrow at 8 p.m.
