Yao Ming Coming To Rio Grande Valley

MCALLEN, TEXAS - The NBA Development League Rio Grande Valley Vipers announced today that Houston Rockets center Yao Ming (7-6, 310, China) will be in attendance at the Vipers' 7:30 p.m. home game against the Austin Toros on March 10 at State Farm Arena.
More details regarding his visit will be released in the near future.
Tickets can be purchased through the Vipers at the Pro-Shop at Uptown Plaza on N. 10th St. in McAllen, over the phone (972-1144), or online through Ticketmaster via rgvipers.com.
Doors open at 6:30.
This will be Yao's first visit to the Rio Grande Valley. He was unable to attend RGV Rocket Launch 2009, a festival surrounding the first-ever Rockets training camp in the Rio Grande Valley, due to a foot injury that has kept him out for the season.
In a seven-year career with the Rockets thus far, the six-time All-Star is averaging 19.1 points, 9.3 rebounds and 1.9 blocks in 481 games (471 starts).
