NEW YORK, Feb. 19, 2010 - Houston Rockets guard Jermaine Taylor has been reassigned to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, Houston's NBA D-League affiliate, it was announced today. Taylor's reassignment is the 20th time an NBA player has been assigned to an NBA D-League affiliate this season.

Taylor was originally assigned to Rio Grande Valley on Feb. 28 and appeared in four games before being recalled to Houston on Feb. 2. During his first stint with the Vipers, Taylor averaged 21.8 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists, posting back-to-back 30-point games on Feb. 2 and 3 at Albuquerque.

A 6-4 rookie out of Central Florida, Taylor selected in the second round (32nd overall) of the 2009 NBA Draft by the Washington Wizards and traded to the Rockets on draft night. In 17 games for Houston this season, he is averaging 2.6 points. He scored a career-high seven points in two minutes in a 102-95 loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Jan. 25.

The reigning Conference USA Player of the Year, Taylor averaged 26.2 points (third best in the NCAA) during his senior season. He finished his collegiate career as UCF's all-time leading scorer in the school's Division I history, while ranking fourth all-time in conference-history with 1,979 points.
