
Iowa Energy Win in Double Overtime in Texas

Frisco, Texas - The Iowa Energy (13-15) won 113-107 over the Texas Legends in double overtime (15-13) Wednesday night at Dr Pepper Arena.
The Energy were led by Andrew Harrison with 33 points, four rebounds and seven assists. Memphis Grizzlies assignee Jarell Martin added 22 points and 13 rebounds. Alex Stepheson posted his 20th double-double in the last 21 games with 14 points and 10 rebounds. The Legends were led by Tu Holloway with 31 points and four assists.
Texas jumped out to an early nine-point lead to start the game. Harrison's two three-pointers helped the Energy climb back into the game and cut the lead down to just one point at the end of the quarter. Iowa outscored the Legends 10-4 in the paint. Texas led 29-28 heading into the second quarter. The Energy got hot in the second, scoring 33 points in the quarter. Harrison added two more three-pointers to bring his first half total to four three-pointers and 17 points. Iowa added 16 more points in the paint and briefly opened up a 13-point lead over Texas. The Energy went on to lead 61-50 at halftime.
The Energy briefly extended their lead to 14 points to start the second half. Jarell Martin got it going with nine points in the third. Iowa held an 87-75 advantage heading into the final quarter. In the fourth quarter, Iowa struggled early with turnovers. Texas was able to capitalize on the turnovers. The Legends' three-point shooting came alive and quickly erased the Energy's 14-point lead with a 25-5 run to start the quarter and take the lead. Iowa fought back to tie the game in the closing minute. Both teams had a chance to take the lead in the final 12.8 seconds, but neither were able to get a shot to fall and the game went to overtime. This was the Energy's seventh overtime game this season.
In overtime, Texas scored the early basket to go up 105-103. Iowa tied the game with 56.5 seconds left. Neither team would score again and the game went into double overtime. The Energy scored eight points in the second overtime period and would go on to win 113-107 over the Texas Legends.
The Energy are back home this Saturday at 7 p.m. for Rotary Polio Plus Night and 70's Night.
