BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield Jam (12-19) managed to hit 18 3-pointers en route to a 132-111 home victory over the Oklahoma City Blue (10-21) on Tuesday night. Six Jam players scored in double-figures, led by Terrico White's season-high 37 points (13/22 FGs; 8/13 3FGs) to go along with eight rebounds and four assists.
Xavier Silas set the tone for Bakersfield early in the game as he put up 16 points in the opening period to help the Jam take a 30-25 lead after one quarter of play. Bakersfield would pour in 47 points in the second quarter alone, led by White's 19-point scoring quarter performance. The Jam went into the half with a 77-61 advantage. Bakersfield converted 12-of-17 treys (70.6%) in the first half, compared to Oklahoma City's 3-of-8 (37.5%).
Oklahoma City made it a game in the third period, as they jumped out to a 13-0 run and got within three points (77-74) at the 7:29 mark. That would be as close as the visiting team got, as Bakersfield regrouped and regained its double-digit lead heading into the final frame (103-89). The Jam would stretch their lead to as big as 23 in the fourth quarter.
For the second consecutive game, the Jam made 18 three-pointers, tying a season-high in three-point field goals made. Overall, Bakersfield shot 18-of-35 (51.4%) from beyond the arc and held the edge in rebounds (45-35) and assists (32-23).
Silas finished with 23 points while Xavier Munford posted a double-double with 15 points and a season-high 16 assists. Making his Jam debut, Cory Jefferson also added a double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds. Askia Booker (15) and Kyle Casey (11) contributed double-digit scoring performances as well.
All five starters scored in double-figures for the Blue, led by JP Tokoto (21 points, 3 steals) and Dez Wells (20 points). Kameron Woods notched a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Bakersfield will next play on Thursday against the visiting Rio Grande Valley Vipers. Tip-off is set at 7:00 p.m. PT.
