
Iowa Energy Fall to Raptors 905

Mississauga, Ontario - The Iowa Energy (18-23) fell 102-98 to the Raptors 905 (16-25) Friday night at the Hersey Centre.
The Energy were led by Patrick Christopher with 18 points and two rebounds. Andrew Harrison added 17 points, four rebounds and six assists and D.J. Stephens posted a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. The Raptors 905 were led by Scott Suggs with 22 points, six rebounds and four assists.
It was a tight start to the game between the Energy and Raptors 905. The teams exchanged the lead seven times and were tied six times in the first quarter. Neither team was able to build much of a lead. Harrison started the scoring for the Energy with the first five points. Christopher led the Energy with six first quarter points as the Raptors 905 led the Energy 23-22 heading into the second quarter. The Raptors were able to build a 10-point lead in the second quarter. Stephens and Ennis carried the load for the Energy scoring 13 of the team's 20 second quarter points. The Raptors 905 led the Energy 50-42 at halftime.
The Energy came out ready to play in the second half. Christopher helped lead the Energy back into the game with eight points in the third. The Energy cut the lead down to five points heading into fourth after outscoring the Raptors 29-26 in the third. Stephens gave the Energy an extra spark on offense to start the fourth, helping the Energy regain the lead with 9:00 left to play for the first time since the first quarter. The Energy and Raptors would exchange the lead four times in the fourth as they kept it a close game. The Energy were up two with 1:30 to play before the Raptors would hit a couple shots to take back the lead. Iowa had a several chances to tie or take the lead in the closing seconds, but were unable to get a shot to fall and fell 102-98 to the Raptors 905.
The Energy are back in action Saturday night at 6 p.m. for game two against the Raptors 905.
