
Intimidators Win Streak Ends At Six With 3-2 Loss In Hickory

Hickory, NC - The Intimidators (29-25) had the tying and go-ahead runs on base in the 9th inning but Kannapolis couldn?t come through with the big hit and fell 3-2 to the Hickory Crawdads (17-40) in the series finale at L.P. Frans Stadium. The loss snaps the Intimidators? six-game winning streak.
The Intimidators plated two runs in the 1st but that was all. Jorge Castillo and Mark Fleisher drove in runs on RBI groundouts. After that, the Intimidators mustered just two hits in the loss.
Kannapolis finished with three hits and just two runs after scoring 35 runs in the first three games of the series.
Johnnie Lowe (5-7) takes the tough luck loss giving up three runs (one earned) over seven innings. It is Lowe?s fifth straight start lasting at least 6.0 innings pitched.
The Intimidators? final eight-game roadtrip is now complete. Kannapolis dropped the first and last games but took the six in the middle. The Intimidators took three of four from Asheville and Hickory. The I's have won four straight series and are 12-4 in the past 16 games.
