Intimidators Slug Out Season-High 13 Runs

LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 26, 2011) - The Kannapolis Intimidators used a season-high 13-runs to drop the Lexington Legends, 13-6, on Tuesday night. Leadoff man CF Trayce Thompson led the charge for the Intimidators, going 3-for-4 with a three-run homerun, his team-leading sixth of the season.

The Intimidators struck for six runs over the first and second innings to provide starter RHP Jake Petricka with solid run support in his fourth start of the season. Petricka (2-0) tossed five innings, allowing four runs on eight hits while striking out seven and walking two to earn the win. RHP Paul Burnside allowed one run over four innings of relief to pick up his first save of the season.

Kannapolis led 9-4 heading into the seventh inning before SS Kyle Eveland added a three-run homerun (2) to cap a four-run inning.

Lexington starter Brad Dydalewicz (0-3) took the loss, giving up seven runs off seven hits in 3 and 2/3 innings.

The Intimidators and Legends continue their five-game series with game three on Wednesday at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
