Intimidators' Harvard in MiLB Madness Vote

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (August 2, 2011) - What's in a name' For Dusty Harvard, it's the chance to be the winner of one of Minor League Baseball's most popular promotions.

MiLB.com has kicked off its annual Moniker Madness to find the best name in the minors, and Harvard -- an outfielder for the Kannapolis Intimidators -- is among the entrants. The Intimidators encourage all fans to go online and vote for Harvard. And with a tip of the cap to the Intimidators' major league affiliate, the Chicago White Sox, fans should treat this like voting in Chicago: vote early and vote often.

Harvard, 23, joined the Intimidators on July 16 after starting the season with Bristol where he hit .298 in 12 games. The outfielder stands 6'3", 196 pounds and was selected by the White Sox in the 34th round of the 2010 draft out of Oklahoma State University. Originally from Casper, Wy., Baseball America named Harvard the Best Athlete in the White Sox 2010 draft class.

Fans can log on to "minorleaguebaseball.com/madness" to cast their vote. The first round of Moniker Madness voting is currently live and runs through Aug. 7. Second round voting is Aug. 8-11, and the third round is Aug. 12-15. Quarterfinals take place Aug. 16-18, with Semifinals Aug. 19-22 and the Championship round Aug. 23-25. The tournament winner will be announced on Friday, Aug. 26. Harvard is a No. 2 seed out of the Razor Shines Bracket and is facing Jerod Yakubik in the first round.
