(Indianapolis, IN) - Five Pawtucket Red Sox players tallied multi-hit games, but the Indianapolis Indians pulled away with 16 hits of their own to win their second straight contest, 10-6, on a warm Wednesday afternoon at Victory Field.

The Indians (35-30) scored five total runs in both the first two and final two innings they came to bat.

Pawtucket (33-32) has allowed 16 runs in the first two games of this series after the club had allowed 11 total runs over its previous eight games.

The PawSox put three runs on the board in the first inning against Indianapolis starter Chad Kuhl.

Ryan LaMarre led off the ballgame with a double to extend his on-base streak to 18 games, tying Marco Hernandez for the longest such streak by a PawSox player this season. LaMarre then stole third and scored on Chris Marrero's single into right field. Henry Ramos then added an RBI single.

Since being held hitless in his Triple-A debut, Ramos has a six-game hitting streak and four hits in his last two games.

Chris Dominguez came home with the third run of the opening frame when Kuhl fired an errant pickoff throw to first base.

The Indians responded with a run in the bottom of the first.

Alen Hansen singled, swiped second base and scored on Adam Frazier's line drive base hit into right field. Frazier tried to follow Hansen's lead and steal second base but Ali Solis threw him out to keep the score 3-1.

Indianapolis cut the lead to 3-2 with two doubles in the second inning and then used three straight two-out singles, including a two-run hit by Pedro Florimon, to grab a 5-3 lead.

Pawtucket starter Sean O'Sullivan allowed a season-high five runs and 10 hits in four innings.

Kuhl did not fare much better, surrendering five runs (three earned) on nine hits four innings.

Kuhl and O'Sullivan came into the day ranked sixth and eighth, respectively, on the International League ERA leaderboard.

The PawSox struck against Kuhl again for a run in the third and the fourth.

After a single and an error in the third, Bryce Brentz delivered an RBI single to cut the deficit to 5-4.

In the next frame, Mike Miller lined a double into right center field and advanced to third base as right fielder Wily Garcia failed to cut the ball off before it rolled to the wall. Miller scored on Ali Solis' game-tying sacrifice fly.

Later in the inning, Pawtucket loaded the bases with two outs but left them full when Brentz tapped into a force out.

The PawSox finally retook the lead on Brentz's long home run (2) over the center field fence with two outs in the seventh inning against reliever Kyle Lobstein (1-0).

But Josh Bell answered by leading off the bottom half of the inning with a mammoth blast (9) to center field of his own against Kyle Martin (2-3) to tie the game, 6-6.

After a single and a walk against Martin, Gift Ngoepe drilled a go-ahead, two-run triple up the left center field alley against Anthony Varvaro.

The Indians extended their 8-6 lead to 10-6 with two more runs in the eighth inning.

The top four hitters in the Pawtucket lineup-LaMarre, Jantzen Witte, Chris Marrero and Brentz-all recorded two hits in the loss as the PawSox fell to 1-4 against Indianapolis this season.
