June 15, 2016 - International League (IL1)
Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
After a dramatic come-from-behind win on Tuesday, the Lehigh Valley IronPigs will look for their second straight win over the Gwinnett Braves on Wednesday night. First pitch from Coca-Cola Park is slated for 7:05 p.m.
LHP Anthony Vasquez (7-3, 3.28 in AA) will make his first start for the year with the IronPigs on Wednesday. Vasquez's last outing with Double-A Reading came on Thursday at Akron when he gave up two runs on six hits to go along with a walk and a career-high tying nine strikeouts over 8.0 IP in a win. The southpaw was 8-8 with a 4.56 ERA in 20 GS with the IronPigs last season.
RHP Lucas Sims (2-5, 6.80) gets the ball for the G-Braves opposite Vasquez. Sims earned the win on Friday vs. Norfolk when he allowed one run on five hits while walking three and fanning seven over five innings of work. Ranked as the No. 11 prospect in the Braves system according to Baseball America, the right-hander began the season with Double-A Mississippi where he was 0-2 with a 1.84 ERA in 4 GS.
With a three-run walk-off double on Tuesday night, Pigs 1B Brock Stassi has hit safely in 12 of his last 14 games. In that time, Stassi is hitting .354-2-11 (17-48, 4 2B, 3B, 5 BB, 10 R).
On Wednesday, fans can bring their child's report card (K-12) to the Coca-Cola Park ticket window and receive one Field Level ticket -- as well as a voucher for a regular fountain soda, hot dog and box of popcorn -- for just $10 for any or all of the games from June 14-16. Wednesday is also Faith Night and Ladies Night.
