
Indians Sweep Hawks out of Town with 6-4 Win

Spokane, WA -With the first half of the season winding down and the top of the Northwest League Eastern Division hotly contested, the Indians picked an ideal time for their first sweep of the season. Spokane rallied from an early 2-1 deficit with five runs in the fifth inning, and cruised to a 6-4 win in the series finale against Boise in front of 3,851 fans at Avista Stadium for Ladies Night presented by Twisted Tea and Coyote Country 99.9 FM.
Indians starter Santo Perez (4-1) continued his strong work on the mound with 5.1 solid innings, and was backed up by sterling relief efforts from Chris Hanna and Kyle Hendricks, who picked up his third save of the season with five strikeouts in two innings.
Spokane's offense continued their recent trend of big innings with their five-run fifth that was highlighted by a Zach Cone home run over the Supercuts sign in leftfield. Hanser Alberto and Rougned Odor both had two-run singles in the inning.
The Indians remain tied with Tri-City atop the NWL East with the two teams set to square off for a three game series starting tomorrow.
