Boise Hawks News Release

SPOKANE, Wash. - Batting around for seven runs in the fifth inning, the Spokane Indians rolled to an 10-3 victory over the Boise Hawks, before 4,510 fans at Avista Stadium.

Trailing 2-0 in the fifth, the Indians sent 11 men to the plate to turn the tide for a second straight night. Rougned Odor gapped a two-run triple to tie the game, scoring when Blair Springfield's throw home eluded catcher Yaniel Cabezas. Brett Nicholas added an RBI double, Guillermo Pimentel added a run scoring single, and Drew Robinson lined a two-run double to push the Spokane lead to 7-2.

It was enough for Philip Klein, who tossed three shutout innings in relief to pick up his first professional win - striking out five.

Boise had their chances early in the game, as Paul Hoilman's solo homer in the second gave the Hawks a 1-0 lead. However, the visitors squandered opportunities in the second, third, and fourth - going 1-for-5 with the bases loaded, including a pair of double play balls, getting just a Kyung-Min Na RBI infield single, to lead 2-0.

Starter Yao-Lin Wang was outstanding for the Hawks, allowing just one hit and striking out seven in a no-decision. Zeke DeVoss had three hits for Boise, with Wes Darvill adding a pair of singles - as the Hawks lost for the ninth time in 11 games.

All nine Spokane players had at least one hit, with Odor going 2-for-5 in the win.

Game 3 of the series is tomorrow night, with Su-Min Jung getting the start for Boise, opposite the Indians Santo Perez at 7:35 p.m. (MT).
