August 30, 2015 - Northwest League (NWL1)
Spokane Indians News Release
SPOKANE, Wash. - Despite a strong performance from Spokane starter Cody Palmquist, the Vancouver Canadians edged the Indians 3-2 on Sunday afternoon in front of 4,050 fans at Avista Stadium. It was Health Day Game presented by Premera Blue Cross, 93.7 The Mountain and SportsRadio 1510 KGA.
Palmquist scattered just three hits in his first five innings of work holding a 2-0 lead. But then it all blew up in the sixth inning.
The right hander gave up three straight hits, including an RBI double. Dario Beltre relieved and loaded the bases by hitting his first batter faced. He forced Gunnar Heidt to ground into a double play on the follow at-bat, but Vancouver tied the game. Jason Richman then came in for Beltre and gave up the go-ahead single in his first at-bat.
Dylan Moore hit his seventh home run of the season, a bomb to left field. Moore, batting .250, leads Spokane with 35 RBI. Yeyson Yrizarri finished 1-for-3 with his 27th RBI - second on the team behind Moore. Tyler Sanchez added in two singles in his four at-bats.
The Spokane Indians will return home on Tuesday, September 1st, for Home Runs for Hope Night, presented by Goodwill Industries and 103.1 KCDA. Join us as we celebrate local stories of hope and success. Stick around after the game and Circle the Bases courtesy of Supercuts!
