Salem, Oregon - The Boise Hawks outhit the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes on Saturday night but could not produce the necessary runs as they fell by a score of 2-0.
Jack Wynkoop took the mound for the Hawks and gave up four hits over five solid innings pitched but picked up the loss on the evening.
Wynkoop cruised through the first three innings before giving up two solo home runs to Miguel Gomez and John Riley in the fourth inning.
Meanwhile, Andrew Leenhouts proved to be too much for the Hawks hitters as he tossed seven and 2/3 shutout innings, allowing six hits while striking out five.
Alec Kenilvort entered and didn't allow a hit over the final three innings but the Hawks could not push a run across as their five game winning streak game to an end on Saturday night.
The Hawks (14-17) and the Volcanoes (15-16) will meet tomorrow for the rubber match of this three game series. First pitch is set for 6:05 p.m.
