Canadians Fall In Extra Innings

(Avista Stadium - Spokane, WA) - After building an early two-run lead on Spokane, the Indians showed resolve in fighting back for a 3-2 victory over the Canadians in 12 innings as Darius Day smacked a single off of Bob Wheatley that scored Yeyson Yrizarri. The loss keeps Vancouver four back of North Division leading Everett with just seven games to play on the 2015 regular season schedule.

How it happened:

The Canadians opened up the scoring in the top of the 2nd inning when Sean Hurley drew one of this three walks on the night and scored on a single off the bat of Earl Burl III.

Vancouver added a run in the top of the 4th inning when Ryan Hissey tripled to left field and scored on a single from Connor Panas to extend the Canadians lead to 2-0.

Spokane evened the game up in the bottom of the 5th inning when Dean Long doubled to right field and Darius Day was hit by a pitch before LeDarius Clark slammed a double, his 11th of the season, scoring both runners.

In the bottom of the 12th inning, Canadians pitcher Bob Wheatley allowed a one-out double to Yeyson Yrizarri who scored seconds later on a hard hit single to left off of Darius Day's bat for the 3-2 win. The hit, was the first walk off base hit that Day has ever recorded at any level.

With the loss, Vancouver falls to 14-17 (.451) through 31 second half games and remain four games back of North Division leading Everett who fell to the Dust Devils on Saturday night out at Memorial Stadium.
