August 18, 2018 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
FC Dallas News Release

FRISCO, Texas - The Independent Panel, consisting of one representative from the United States Soccer Federation, one representative from the Canadian Soccer Association, and one representative nominated by the Professional Referee Organization, has denied FC Dallas' appeal of the red card issued to defender Reto Ziegler for violent conduct during the 90+ minute of Dallas's match against Seattle Sounders FC on August 12.

Ziegler will serve his red card suspension in tomorrow's match against Minnesota United FC (7 PM CT on www.FCDallas.com/Live).

Each club is entitled to two unsuccessful appeals per season, including playoffs. FC Dallas has one unsuccessful appeal remaining for the 2018 season.

MLS Disciplinary Committee Decisions

The MLS Disciplinary Committee has also issued Ziegler an undisclosed fine for failure to leave the field in a timely and orderly manner during the 90+ minute of Dallas' match against Seattle Sounders FC on August 12.

The MLS Disciplinary Committee has found both FC Dallas and Seattle Sounders FC in violation of the Mass Confrontation Policy after the teams' match on August 12 (VIDEO). Both clubs will be issued a warning for their first violation during the 2018 MLS Regular Season.
