Vancouver Whitecaps FC News Release
VANCOUVER, BC - Vancouver Whitecaps FC (9W-9L-7D) and the New York Red Bulls (15W-6L-3D) earned a share of the spoils at BC Place on Saturday afternoon as Kendall Waston and Daniel Royer each tallied a brace for their respective sides.

The 10-men Red Bulls equalized in the final minute of regulation time after Michael Murillo was sent off with two yellow cards, both shown for fouls drawn by Alphonso Davies on the RBNY defender.
Despite the last-minute draw, Whitecaps FC are now undefeated in four league matches, the last three coming against clubs ahead of them in the MLS table.
The Red Bulls nudged ahead early in the showdown off a throw-in sequence, when Tyler Adams' long through ball spotted Bradley Wright-Phillips springing forward along the right wing. Wright-Phillips played the provider role, setting up Royer for a tap-in in front of goal to put the visitors ahead 1-0 in the fifth minute.
Waston drew the 'Caps level in the 42nd minute on a corner set piece, climbing high and heading in Yordy Reyna's pinpoint delivery to knot the match at 1-1 heading into halftime.
The Red Bulls looked intent on recapturing the lead to start the second half, but 'Caps goalkeeper Stefan Marinovic came up with a pair of excellent saves, stopping Alex Muyl and Wright-Phillips from point-blank range.
It would be Whitecaps FC who would get on the driver seat as Waston once again cashed in on a well-placed corner kick, this time heading in Felipe's feed at the hour-mark for the 2-1 Vancouver lead. It was Waston's second MLS career brace, while Felipe tallied his seventh assist on the season in his first meeting against his old RBNY club.
The visitors would claw back at the end however, when Royer blasted in the 90th-minute equalizer off a Tyler Adams free kick for the final 2-2 score.
Next up for Whitecaps FC is an away-and-home series versus San Jose Earthquakes. The 'Caps visit Avaya Stadium on Saturday, August 25, with kickoff live on TSN and 1410 AM at 7 p.m. PT. The scene then shifts to BC Place on the following Saturday, September 1. Visit whitecapsfc.com for ticket information.
