Club de Foot Montreal News Release
MONTREAL - The Montreal Impact announced on Tuesday that its U14 Academy team will take part in the 30th edition of the Tournoi International de Neuville-sur-Saone, in France, from June 3 to 5.
The 16-team tournament will host six foreign clubs, including FC Torino (Italy) and Benfica (Portugal), five Ligue 1 clubs and five regional elite teams.
The Bleu-blanc-noir was drawn in group C, along with RCD Espanyol de Barcelona, Olympique de Marseille, and FC Fleury 91.
"The tournament in Neuville is a good opportunity for our group to face the best players born in 2002 in Europe and to compare ourselves," said Impact U14 head coach Eduardo Sebrango. "Our goal is to win as many games as possible, while playing with our principles and a good team spirit."
Many high-level soccer players played in this tournament, including Karim Benzema, Alexandre Lacazette, and Anthony Martial.
The Impact U14 will try to follow in the footsteps of the Impact U13, which did well in France at the Tournoi Sans Frontieres in Sens, in April, finishing 11th out of 24 teams.
