
Ortiz Suspended for Embellishment; 'Caps, DC United Warned for Mass Confrontation

NEW YORK - The MLS Disciplinary Committee announced today that D.C. United forward José Ortiz was found guilty of simulation/embellishment during the 59th minute of D.C.'s match against Vancouver Whitecaps FC on May 27.Ortiz has been suspended for one game and issued an undisclosed fine.

United have been found in violation of the Mass Confrontation Policy in the 90+ minute of the teams' match on May 27. Both Vancouver Whitecaps FC and D.C. United have been issued warnings for each club's first violation of the league's policy this season.
Whitecaps FC face Montreal Impact in the second leg of the Canadian Championship semifinal tonight at Stade Saputo (4:30 p.m. PT on TSN) before resuming league play on Saturday afternoon vs. expansion side Atlanta United FC (2:30 p.m. PT at BC Place - tickets still available).
