
Impact Exercises Options for 11 Players

MONTREAL - The Montreal Impact announced on Thursday that it has exercised options for 11 players on its roster.
The Impact has exercised options for goalkeeper James Pantemis, defender Jorge Corrales and midfielders Clément Bayiha, Mathieu Choinière, Ignacio Piatti, Samuel Piette, Romell Quioto, Amar Sejdic, Shamit Shome and Designated Player Saphir Taïder, officialising the midfielder's permanent transfer to the Impact for the next two seasons from Bologna FC.
The Impact exercised its second six-month loan option for midfielder Lassi Lappalainen from Bologna FC, until June 30, 2020. The Impact will then hold another option to extend his loan until December 31, 2020.
Goalkeeper Evan Bush, defenders Rudy Camacho, Jukka Raitala and Karifa Yao, midfielder Bojan, and striker Maximiliano Urruti, are all under contract for next season.
The club will not exercise the option for goalkeeper Jason Beaulieu, defenders Daniel Kinumbe and Thomas Meilleur-Giguère, midfielders Omar Browne, Ken Krolicki and Jeisson Vargas, as well as striker Anthony Jackson-Hamel. Regarding Jackson-Hamel, discussions are currently ongoing for a return in 2020.
Furthermore, goalkeeper Clément Diop, along with defenders Bacary Sagna and Rod Fanni, are currently without a contract, while season-long loans for defender Zachary Brault-Guillard (Olympique Lyonnais) and midfielders Ballou Tabla (FC Barcelona) and Orji Okwonkwo (Bologna FC) have come to an end. Discussions are also ongoing with most of these players.
