
Chicago Fire FC Exercises Contract Option on CJ Sapong and Raheem Edwards

Chicago Fire FC News Release
CHICAGO - Chicago Fire FC announced today that it has exercised the 2020 contract options on forward CJ Sapong and defender/midfielder Raheem Edwards.
Additionally, the Club announced that it has declined contract options on the following players: Diego Campos, Stefan Cleveland, Elliott Collier, Nicolás Gaitán, Aleksandar Katai, Cristian MartÃÂnez, Amando Moreno, David Ousted and Richard Sánchez.
Cleveland, Ousted and Sánchez are eligible to participate in the MLS Re-Entry Draft. The following players are eligible for the MLS Waiver Draft: Campos, Collier, Gaitán, Katai, MartÃÂnez and Moreno.
Forward Nemanja NikoliÃâ¡ is out of contract and defender Bastian Schweinsteiger announced his retirement on Oct. 8.
Fourteen players were already guaranteed for next season: Micheal Azira, Jonathan Bornstein, Brandt Bronico, Francisco Calvo, Przemysà âaw Frankowski, Jeremiah Gutjahr, Fabian Herbers, Johan Kappelhof, Kenneth Kronholm, Marcelo, ÃÂlvaro Medrán, Djordje MihailoviÃâ¡, Andre Reynolds II and Gabriel Slonina.

Goalkeeper (2): Kenneth Kronholm, Gabriel Slonina
Defender (5): Jonathan Bornstein, Francisco Calvo, Johan Kappelhof, Marcelo, Andre Reynolds II
