Idle Grizz Clinch ECHL Playoff Berth

West Valley City, Utah - The idle Utah Grizzlies clinched an ECHL Kelly Cup Playoff berth Saturday evening, thanks to the Las Vegas Wranglers who defeated the Victoria Salmon Kings 4-1 at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre. The Las Vegas win makes it mathematically impossible for Victoria to catch Utah this season in the ECHL's West Division standings.
The Grizzlies have not qualified for the post-season since the 2002-2003 campaign when the club was in the American Hockey League.
Utah will host at least two playoff games at the E-Center in mid-April. Individual playoff tickets will go on sale to the general public in the next few weeks.
Now battling for playoff seeding, the Grizzlies open a four-game home stand Wednesday with the Alaska Aces. Utah entertains Idaho Friday at the E-Center. All home games start at 7:05 p.m.
