PORTLAND, Maine, December 19, 2010 - The Idaho Stampede lost to the Maine Red Claws (6-6) 100-98 on Sunday afternoon, with two late buckets being scored by the Red Claws in regulation and overtime.
Maine guard Jamar Smith made a three-pointer with 3.9 seconds left in regulation to tie the game at 92 and near the end of overtime, Tiny Gallon made the go-ahead layup with 1.9 seconds left.
Lance Hurdle led the way for Idaho, scoring a Stampede season-high 31 points on 11-of-20 shooting. Carlos Wheeler added 19 points (15-18 FT) off the bench, while starters Luke Jackson had 23 points and Antoine Walker added 15 points. Seth Tarver notched 10 rebounds for the second straight game for Idaho (2-11). The Stampede shot just 39.7 percent from the floor, but made up ground on Maine by making 32-of-38 free throws and forcing 19 Red Claw turnovers.
Maine had four players in double-figures with Gallon leading the way with 17 points and eight rebounds. Mario West had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
