Strawberry Leads Reno to 93-89 Comeback Win Over Austin

CEDAR PARK, Texas- D.J. Strawberry poured in a game-high 33 points off the bench, leading the Reno Bighorns to a 93-89 victory Sunday evening over the Austin Toros in the Cedar Park Center.

The Bighorns kept it close throughout the game, never trailing by more than nine points. After falling behind by eight halfway through the fourth quarter, the 'Horns closed the game on an 18-6 run to grab the victory and snap a three-game skid.

Strawberry gave Reno its first lead of the fourth quarter with a layup and free throw with 1:39 to play. After the Toros' Marcus Cousin tied the game at 89 with two free throws, Aaron Miles scored what would prove to be the game-winning basket on a driving layup with 32.2 seconds remaining. Strawberry would add a bucket with two seconds left, sending the Bighorns into the holiday break on a positive note.

Cousin led Austin with 22 points and a game-high 13 rebounds, while Squeaky Johnson added 18 for the Toros. Patrick Ewing, Jr. pitched in with 16 points and seven boards for Reno.

The Bighorns return home on Tuesday, Dec. 28 against the Tulsa 66ers. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. PST, and tickets are on-sale now at RenoBighorns.com, ticketmaster.com or the Silver Legacy box office.
