Evansville IceMen News Release

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Evansville IceMen, presented by Coors Light, could not solve the riddle that was the Cincinnati Cyclones defense and Rob Madore who finished the season series between the two teams with a 4-0 win. This season the IceMen played the Cyclones 11 times, more than any other opponent.

Less than two minutes into the game, the Cyclones got on the board. Garrick Perry made a cross-crease pass to Geoff Irwin who netted his 16th of the year to give Cincinnati a 1-0 lead.

Alex Vazzano made 15 saves in the first period. The rookie from Sacred Heart kept Evansville in the game in an opening stanza that saw the IceMen outshot 16-3.

Cincinnati pushed its lead to three in the second period. Jack Downing and Perry lit the lamp to increase the Cyclone advantage to 3-0 heading into the third.

Joe Basaraba scored to put the Cyclones up 4-0 just two minutes into the final frame. The IceMen threw 13 shots at the net in the third and fired 21 shots in the game, but Madore stopped them all to earn his fourth shutout of the year, Vazzano made 30 saves for Evansville, but in the end he could not get his first pro win. Robin Soudek took a team high five shots in the loss.

The IceMen continue their six-game road trip to end the season with their first visit to Gwinnett for a showdown with the Gladiators, Wednesday night at 6:05 p.m. central time. Catch that game live at Bar Louie, the official watch party destination of the Evansville IceMen.
