IceDogs Hold Family Day Skills Competition

The Niagara IceDogs held their annual Skills Competition Family Day, Feb. 16th presented by Swiss Chalet on Fourth Avenue.

Team Hope beat Team Moran in the Puck Control Relay, the Fastest Skater, Shooting Accuracy and Hardest Shot. Team Moran won the Goalie Race, the Breakaway Challenge and the Goalie Shooting, while the teams tied in the Elimination Shootout.

Team Hope held a 12-6 lead heading into the final event, the 3-on-3 mini-game. Ryan Mantha, Vince Dunn, Jordan Maletta and Josh Ho-Sang all scored to give Team Moran 7-5 victory, but it wasn't enough to overcome the deficit. Graham Knott, Billy Jenkins, Brendan Perlini and Zach Wilkie had the goals for Team Hope, who won the Skills Competition by a total score of 17-13

Here were the individual winners of each event:

-Fastest Skater: Blake Siebenaler 14.87 seconds

-Fastest Goalie: Brent Moran 5.20 seconds

- Breakaway Challenge: Mikkel Aagaard 60 points (perfect score)

-Shooting Accuracy: Anthony DiFruscia 4/5

-Hardest Shot: Blake Siebenaler 99 mph

Over 2000 people were in attendance, the most ever for our Family Day Skills Competition. The bins were also full of pasta and sauce for Community Care. The IceDogs would like to thank the fans for coming out and supporting your team as well as donating to a great cause!
