
Five Straight Wins for 67's After Road Victory in Kingston

OTTAWA - The Ottawa 67's won for the fifth straight time on Monday afternoon in Kingston, downing the Frontenacs 2-1 in Ontario Hockey League action at the Rogers K-Rock Centre.
Brendan Bell scored the go-ahead goal and eventual winner at 5:22 of the second, beating Kingston's Lucas Peressini just 19 seconds after Kingston's Sam Field tied the game by scoring his first OHL marker.
Ottawa goalie Liam Herbst, who also has five straight wins, made 34 saves, including 18 in the final period when he made several key stops to preserve the victory. Herbst has started all games during his team's current streak, with fellow netminder Leo Lazarev out due to illness.
Orleans native Curtis Meighan opened the scoring in the first the 67's, which moved to within two points of the North Bay Battalion for third place in the OHL Eastern Conference. The victory also advanced Ottawa nine points ahead of fifth-place Niagara IceDogs.
The win capped a sweep of a home-and-home series against Kingston for Ottawa, as the 67's downed the Frontenacs 3-0 at TD Place on Sunday afternoon. The victory also gave Ottawa its fifth win in eight games over Kingston this season.
67's captain Travis Konecny did not play due to illness.
Ottawa's next home game is Friday, February 20 against the Saginaw Spirit at TD Place. Face-off is at 7:30 p.m.
