The 'Cats and Monarchs meet for the second time in eight nights. The Monarchs defeated the IceCats 3-2 last Friday night at the Centrum Centre. IceCats forward Blake Evans potted a shorthanded goal, center Jeff Panzer recorded two assists and netminder Phil Osaer made 23 saves in the loss. The Monarchs sit four points ahead of Worcester in the North Division. Manchester has accumulated 15 points in nine games. The LA Kings affiliate is undefeated on the road this season with a record of 5-0. Center Mike Cammalleri leads Manchester with four goals and 10 assists: (4/10/14).

IceCats vs. Springfield: IceCats Lead Season Series 1-0

The IceCats defeated the Falcons 4-1 on October 30th, the only other meeting between these two teams. Jason Dawe scored a shorthanded goal and Christian Backman had one goal and one assist in the 'Cats win. Springfield has a record of 4-8 and is in last place in the five team East Division. They have been outscored 46-28 in those 12 games. The Falcons have also allowed a League high, seven shorthanded goals. Despite the losing record, Ramzi Abid ranks third in the AHL with five power play goals. He leads the team with six goals and six assists: (6/6/12). The Falcons host the Albany River Rats on Friday.

In a special 2 PM start in Lowell, the IceCats and Lock Monsters will clash for the second time this season. Through 10 games, the Lock Monsters are 4-5-1. They lost their last game 5-3 to Manitoba. Right wing Jeff Heerema was just recalled by Carolina yesterday. He led Lowell with six goals, four on the power play, at the time of his recall. The Lock Monsters will play two games in Manitoba, Winnipeg this weekend before flying out on Sunday to host the IceCats on Monday.

* Left wing Sergei Varlamov has recorded 13 points in his last seven games: 7(4/9/13).
* Worcester is 4-0 when leading after the second period.
* The IceCats are averaging 3.80 goals per game.

NOTES: The Worcester IceCats defeated the Springfield Falcons 4-1 Wednesday night at Worcester's Centrum Centre. IceCats defenseman Christian Backman recorded one goal and one assist to pace the 'Cats. Goaltender Phil Osaer stopped 25 shots and right wing Jason Dawe registered a short-handed goal for Worcester.

NOTES: With a late power play goal, the Worcester IceCats fell to the Manchester Monarchs, 3-2. Right wing Blake Evans recorded a shorthanded goal and Jeff Panzer registered two assists. The loss snapped Worcester's four-game unbeaten streak.

NOTES: The IceCats knocked off the Manitoba Moose 7-6. The win was the 'Cats first in three tries against the Winnipeg-based Moose this season. John Pohl and Sergei Varlamov both had two-goals and two assists and Jeff Panzer tallied the game-winning goal for Worcester with 75 seconds remaining in the third. Justin Papineau registered one goal and two assists. Defensemen Steve Bancroft and Terry Virtue both finished with two points, Bancroft with one goal and one assist and Virtue by way of the assist.
6-4 WIN - Sun., Nov. 3 vs. St. John's Maple Leafs - Worcester's Centrum Centre

NOTES: The Worcester IceCats exploded with four third-period goals en route to a 6-4 win over the St John's Maple Leafs Sunday at Worcester's Centrum Centre. Eight Worcester players tallied multiple points, including Blake Evans, who had two goals. Worcester goaltender Scott Stirling, son of Bridgeport Head Coach Steve Stirling, earned the win in his AHL debut. Worcester finished the four-games-in-five-nights week with a 3-1 record.
