Senators Sign Former Icemen Blueliner

BINGHAMTON, NY – The Binghamton Senators announced today that they have signed defenseman Scott Ricci (REE-kee) to a professional tryout agreement.

Ricci, 28, from St. Catherines, ON, had been with the Adirondack Icehawks of the United Hockey League this season. He was pointless in two contests. Last year, Ricci saw time with one ECHL and three AHL teams. With the Trenton Titans (ECHL), Ricci appeared in 20 games, scoring two goals and five points with 35 PIM. In 53 AHL games split between Providence, Milwaukee, and Bridgeport, Ricci had one goal and four points with 17 PIM.

Ricci appeared in 57 games in both the 1998-99 and 1999-2000 seasons with the B.C. Icemen (UHL). During his Icemen career, he scored 10 goals and 47 points while picking up 123 PIM.

The Senators return to action at home Friday, November 8, as they welcome the Hershey Bears to the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena and Saturday, the Norfolk Admirals make their first ever visit to Binghamton. Game time is 7:05 p.m. both nights with tickets still available at all Ticketmaster outlets, the Arena box office, The Center Ice Team Shop at Metrocenter, aor by calling the Sens Hotline at 722-7367. The Sens wrap up the weekend on Sunday with a 5:05 p.m. battle against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.
