Ice Pilots Acquire Matt Poapst From Dayton for Cash

Pensacola Ice Pilots Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Todd Gordon announced that the Ice Pilots have acquired forward Matt Poapst (pronounced Pops) from the Dayton Bombers for cash.

Poapst, who stands 61 and weighs 195 pounds, played in 27 games with Dayton this season scoring 3 goals, 5 assists for 8 points and has picked up 34 penalty minutes. He has also played for Arkansas this season playing in 40 games overall this year scoring 5 goals, 11 assists for 16 points and picking up 48 penalty minutes.

Poapst played college hockey at Clarkson University from 1998-2002. He played in a total of 141 games scoring 48 goals, 64 assists for 112 points and picked up 191 penalty minutes. Poapst is 24 years old from Monkland, Ontario.

The Ice Pilots will play home to the Jackson Bandits tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. It is a Papa Johns Family Night. A family of four can purchase 4 tickets, 4 sodas, 4 pizza slices and one game program for $44. It must be purchased through the Ice Pilots office. After the game, the entire team will be signing autographs.

The Ice Pilots will play home to the Louisiana IceGators on Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. The first 5,000 fans will receive cheerstix sponsored by Hill Kelly Dodge and Geico Direct Insurance.
