Bakersfield Condors News Release

Bakersfield, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors are trying to reclaim second place in the West Coast Hockey League standings, and will have their chance this weekend, with a pair of games against the rival San Diego Gulls. The Gulls lead the Condors by just four points in the standings. Both games begin at 7:00pm, and the doors open at 6:00pm.

On Friday night, the first 3,000 fans will receive a Condors 2002-03 team trading card set. Sponsored by Time Warner Cable, FOX Sports 800 and Wm. K. Lyons Insurance, the cards includes full color action shots of the players, with career statistics and bio information on the back.

There is another telecast on Friday night as well, for those who can't make it out to the game in person. All Friday night home games for the remainder of the season can be seen live on Time Warner Cable Ch.21, and rebroadcast the following day at 10:00am.

Finally, there's a good reason to open your bills. It's a Time Warner Cable Family Night on Friday, giving Time Warner subscribers the chance to purchase tickets for just $5 apiece with a special coupon that was included along with their monthly cable bill.

Saturday's game, also against San Diego, features Kevin St. Pierre Bobblehead Giveaway Night. The first 2,000 children 12 and under will receive a bobblehead doll, sponsored by KGET-TV 17 and Carl's Jr. St. Pierre, featured wearing the team's landscape jersey, is the second bobblehead subject of the season, and the fourth in team history, joining Jamie Cooke, Paul Rosebush and Paul Willett.

The Condors Coach's Show can be heard tonight from 6-7:00pm on KGEO AM 1230, live from the Holiday Inn Select at 801 Truxtun Ave. This week's guests are winger Jason Ralph and newcomer J.J. Wrobel, as well as Condors Head Coach Paul Kelly. Fans can tune in, call in with questions at 631-1230, or come out to the show, meet the players, and win Condors prizes.

Individual tickets can be purchased at the Centennial Garden Box Office, by calling Ticketmaster at 322-2525, online at ticketmaster.com or stopping by any Ticketmaster location. Season and group tickets may be purchased by calling 324-PUCK (7825) or by visiting the Condors office next to Centennial Garden at 1001 Truxtun Ave.

Condor Droppings: The Condors monthly website auction features the chance to co-host the Condors Coach's Show, live from the Holiday Inn Select. The winner will sit alongside Condors Broadcaster Kevin Bartl and Head Coach Paul Kelly, and interview select Condors players for the show, which airs live on Thursday nights from 6-7pm on KGEO AM 1230. They will also receive a Condors long sleeve T-shirt and four tickets to an upcoming game. Log on to www.bakersfieldcondors.com to place your bid. All proceeds go towards the American Red Cross - Kern County Chapter... The Condors are currently ranked 19th on the national 'AA' rankings on the website www.inthecrease.com. They have been ranked every week since mid-November, and their 4-0 record last week should bump them up in the next poll.
