Couture Named ECHL Goalie of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Columbia's Patrick Couture is the East Coast Hockey League Goalie of the Week for January 13-19.

The 24-year-old Couture was 3-0 with two shutouts, a 0.33 goals against average and a .988 save percentage in three starts.

Couture opened the week making 27 saves in a 2-1 win at Southeast Division leading Pee Dee on Tuesday. He made 29 saves in a 4-0 win against Augusta on Thursday and had 27 saves in a 3-0 win over Charlotte, extending his scoreless streak to 171:27.

The 5-11 and 175-pound Couture has lowered his goals against average from 2.74 to an ECHL-leading 2.42 while raising his save percentage from .905 to .916. He has won four starts in a row and is 9-1 with a 1.67 goals against average and a .942 save percentage in his last 10 games.

He is 17-6-0 overall and tied for fourth in the ECHL with two shutouts.
