Bakersfield Condors News Release
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- The Bakersfield Condors of the West Coast Hockey League are proud to introduce The Marcom Group as their new web host. The website, at www.bakersfieldcondors.com or www.condorsonline.com features many new interactive elements, including an online store and group ticket window.
For the first time, Condors fans are able to purchase merchandise online. The store is currently operational, and completely secure. Fans logging on will set up a personalized account, and log into that account each time they want to make a purchase. Also accessible through www.shopcondors.com, the online store currently has over 50 items, and will be updated with new items when they come in. The store features ten different categories for merchandise, and full color pictures depicting each item.
Also added to the website is a brand-new way to purchase tickets. The group ticket window is perfect for large companies with limited personal access to each employee. For those companies looking to bring out large groups, the entire process is simplified and made convenient. Through the personal company account, individuals may sign in, select the number of seats and pay for them on their own. Group leaders will avoid extra paperwork and the collection of money. By contacting your ticket representative, you can have your own secure online ticket account as well, and take care of your ticket ordering over the Internet. Additionally, expanded player interviews are on the site, and online chat sessions with players are being planned for the near future.
"The Marcom Group shares our vision to have the most dynamic web presence of any minor league team," said Condors Creative Services Director Jonathan Daillak. "With the help of The Marcom Group, we will be able to provide exciting new content and web-events this season for Condors fans."
The Condors host a pair of games this weekend against the San Diego Gulls, on Friday and Saturday. Both games start at 7:00pm. The first 3,000 fans through the gates on Friday will receive a 2002-03 Condors Team Set, sponsored by Time Warmer Cable, FOX Sports 800 and Wm. K. Lyons Insurance.
Single-game tickets are available through the Centennial Garden Box Office, which opens at 10:00am Monday through Saturday. Tickets may also be purchased by phone through Ticketmaster at 322-2525, online at www.ticketmaster.com or at any Ticketmaster location. Season tickets and group outings may be purchased by calling 324-PUCK (7825), or by visiting the Condors office at Centennial Garden.
ST. PIERRE PICKS UP LEAGUE AWARD
Bakersfield Condors netminder Kevin St. Pierre was named the WCHL Goaltender of the Week for the week of January 13-19, after going 4-0 with a 1.50 GAA, and a .953 save percentage, stopping 123 of 129 shots. His week included two victories over the first place Idaho Steelheads, with a 34-save shutout on January 15th. It is the fifth weekly honor St. Pierre has won this season. Last year, netminder Scott Hay set a Condors record by winning the award six times. Incidentally, Saturday night's game against the San Diego Gulls is Kevin St. Pierre Bobblehead Giveaway Night for the first 2,000 children 12 and under.
Jason Ralph was given Honorable Mention for WCHL Player of the Week. Ralph recorded 1g-7a-8pts and was +9 in four games last week. Ralph extended his point-scoring streak to five games, and has risen to the top of the league in plus/minus at +20.
