Gulls Continue to Round Up Weekly Honors

SAN DIEGO - Sylvain Deschatelets was named Player of the Week, the West Coast Hockey League announced today.

Deschatelets earned 11 points (3g, 8a) in three games last week, all of which were San Diego wins. He got things started with an empty net tally against the Long Beach Ice Dogs Wednesday, Jan. 15. Then Deschatelets erupted with six points Friday and four more Saturday against the Anchorage Aces. He accumulated a +10 rating during that three-game stretch.

The 6-foot-2-inch, native of Blainville, Quebec is fifth in team scoring with 29 points (11g, 18a). His six-point performance Friday tied a career high.

Deschatelets began the 2002-03 season with the American Hockey League's Hershey Bears.

R.J. Enga and Cory Cyrenne, who both notched eight points last week (3g, 5a), were named as Honorable Mentions.
