Pensacola Ice Flyers News Release

PENSACOLA, Fla. - Pensacola Ice Flyers forwards Charlie Adams and Brandon Zurn were named American Hockey Coaches Association Division II-III CCM Hockey All-American selections yesterday.

Adams was named to the West Division First Team while Zurn was named to the West Division Second Team. Adams scored 21 goals this season for the Pipers, had 28 assists, and 26 penalty minutes. He was also named the 2015-16 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player-of-the-Year. Zurn had 19 goals as well as 31 assists and 18 penalty minutes. His 50 points led the nation in scoring when his season concluded and Adams was second.

Hamline University men's ice hockey coach Cory Laylin remarked, "both Charlie and Brandon are so deserving of all the accolades they've earned his season. Charlie was our conference's MVP and Brandon led the nation in scoring. When I came as coach two seasons ago, they turned our program around. Brandon was here when the team had three wins in two seasons and then when Charlie came in and those two got together, we won 24 games and a conference championship."

Both players signed with the Ice Flyers on March 3 and have appeared in 11 games for Pensacola. Adams has scored two goals and four assists along with six penalty minutes and a +5 plus/minus rating. Zurn has one goal and four assists with two penalty minutes.

"Congratulations to both Charlie and Brandon," said Ice Flyers head coach Rod Aldoff. "Both of them had tremendous collegiate careers and this is a well-deserved award."
