Macon Mayhem News Release
The Macon Mayhem raced to a 4-0 lead and held on for a 4-3 win over the Fayetteville FireAntz Saturday night at the Macon Coliseum.
It's the fourth straight win for the Mayhem who remain in seventh place one point ahead of eighth place Louisiana and now five points ahead of ninth place Columbus. The top eight teams qualify for the Southern Professional Hockey League playoffs.
Mark Rivera scored twice, and Travis Howe and Jackson Brewer each had a goal for the Mayhem which led 4-0 after two periods. But Kyle Gibbons, Joseph Manno and Nick Lazorko rallied Fayetteville in the third period, with the final goal coming with 39 seconds left.
By scoring at least three goals the Mayhem earned fans a 25% discount on orders at Marco's on Sunday. Fans can order online at marcos.com and use the code Mayhem or say Mayhem when ordering in person at a Marco's restaurant.
The Mayhem and FireAntz play again Sunday afternoon at 4:30 at the Macon Coliseum.
