Club Losses to Bakersfield 4-3 In Shootout

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Jeff Attard's pair of goals and Jamie Sokolsky's goal couldn't hold the Ice Dogs' home win streak of nine alive as the Bakersfield Condors won 4-3 in a shootout Saturday night at the Long Beach Arena. The Ice Dogs loss places the club 10 points behind the San Diego Gulls for a share of the Southern Division lead.

Both teams traded goals in the first period. Attard recorded the game's first goal at 6:44 to put the Ice Dogs ahead 1-0 after receiving a Chris George feed. Bakersfield evened the score with less than three minutes remaining in the period.

In the second, the Ice Dogs jumped to a 3-1 lead after scoring a pair of goals. Attard struck again for his 11th goal of the season at 4:53. Jamie Sokolsky followed with an unassisted goal midway in the period, slipping the puck past a traffic-clogged crease.

Bakersfield scored a pair of goals early in the third period to knot the score at three. Bakersfield's Quinn Fair scored a power-play goal to force the shootout.

The Condors' goaltender Luciano Caravaggio stopped all four of the Ice Dogs shootout attempts.
